IT consultant by day — “the person who fixes things” but also “the person who can explain why the thing broke in the first place.” 30 years of being fascinated by whatever’s next, which means I’ve lived through enough hype cycles to be skeptical and enough failures to be humble about it.

The rest of the time: I write about live music (and take photos), know more about local politics than I really intended to find out, and judge LEGO robotics competitions where middle-school kids build things that make me feel inadequate. I keep track of what I’m listening to, what I’m watching, and which shows I’ve been to — not because anyone asked, but because that data will be useful someday.

I keep asking people “when will this year begin?” but I suppose it has. A lot of things in motion, but some are slightly stalled out. I’ve got another business I’m starting and partners who are ready to launch some awesome things. But there’s some waiting still.

Did you know, even if you have a photo pass, they won’t let you into the pit without a proper camera? So I bought one. Expect higher fidelity photos (same quality, just clearer) from here on out.

Look for my first interview with an international rock star soon. And I’ll be reviewing an album by a band that I’ve been following for 35 years. More to come.
